On June 15th and 16th the Hemp Industries Association is hosting the Hawaii Cannabis Awareness Conference. The event will take place at the Hilo Civic Auditorium from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. on June 15 and 8 a.m. until 7 p.m. on June 16.
The purpose of the event is education regarding the environmental and economic impact of hemp in the U.S., according to Big Island Now. The conference will also focus on entrepreneurial opportunities in the hemp industry. It will also continue the efforts of Hemp History Week by highlighting the benefits of hemp farming, processing and production across the U.S.
Some of the featured events at the conference include:
- Medical cannabis discussions beginning at 10 a.m. on June 15.
- Entertainment
- Vendors
- Discussing hemp production in Hawaii
- Giveaways
- Free yoga class
- Tours of marijuana farms (these tours will require special tickets)
- Women of Cannabis Professional Industry Discussion Panel
The event will officially close with a gratitude dinner. Attendees can enjoy an industry trade show featuring new products and services in the industry as well as learning from chefs. A healthy hemp emporium area will also be setup. Those that want to network in the industry can do so at the “booch bar.”
