Hawaii Medical Marijuana Use Increases Amid Health Crisis

A new study collected data from geo-tagging to determine what states are using the most marijuana during the current coronavirus crisis. Over 200,000 tweets were analyzed to get an idea of what state’s residents are using the most marijuana.

Hawaii residents ranked 5^th in the nation, KITV 4 News reported. Michigan residents tweeted the most about their marijuana use followed by Georgia. Surprisingly, California was 10^th on the list.

Some of the phrases tracked were smoke weed and get high. Other slang terms were also tracked in tweets and hashtags.

For some, using marijuana is their way of coping with what’s going on in the world these days.
