Hawaii Begins a Marijuana Eradication Campaign

Canna

Helicopters have started flying over four districts in Hawaii. The Hamakua, Kona, Ka’u and Waimea areas were targeted first. The helicopter crews are searching for illegal marijuana grows.

The State Department of Public Safety Narcotics Enforcement Division is leading the campaign, West Hawaii Today reported. It is noted that only a “few” officers took part in the mission. The Big Island was the only island the eradication campaign has taken place on.

It is not said how many plants were confiscated or how many arrests were made. It is not said whether these were known illegal grows or those growing for medicinal purposes.  It is not known whether these eradication campaigns will spread to all islands.
