Hawaii Ranks 3rd on List of Top Medical Marijuana States

Hawaii has scored a B+ grade, ranking it 3rd among the top 15 states to live in for medical marijuana. Americans for Safe Access assigned each state with a grade, based upon its pricing, patient access and consumer protections. Hawaii has done a good job, according to these standards.

Hawaii makes it easy to get a medical marijuana card, Culture Cheat Sheet reports. The cost of medicine is also quite low. There are few restrictions on choice of consumption method. These are just some of the factors that contributed to their B+ grade.

Although chronic pain is not a qualifying condition, it is expected that the state will add it soon. There have been some struggles with testing facilities and inter-island transport, but the ease of access and minimal red tape for patients helped the state score rather high.

Outranking Hawaii are Oregon and California.
