Hawaii’s First Annual All Things Cannabis Hemp Festival Coming in August

Oahu Dispensary

Laulima Pahoa is pleased to announce plans have been finalized for its First Annual All Things Cannabis Hemp Festival this coming Statehood Day, August 18, at Uncle Robert’s Awa Bar at the end of the road in lovely Kaimu-Kalapana. Originally to be partnered with Salvador Luquin at his Akebono Theatre, the fire early this year created a challenge, which the Keli’iho’omalu family has graciously accepted.

A day of free family-friendly cannabis education is planned from 12 noon to 6:00 p.m. Speakers alternating with songwriters will keep the knowledge light and flowing, and the public will have opportunity to speak one-on-one with our presenters at their own booths. Vendors will offer local products and ono local-style food will be available.

Organizers of this venture are long-time Pahoa artist-activist Sara Steiner joined by Billy LeVan and Dr. Phil Denney, early members of the American Alliance for Medical Cannabis, who luckily are now Puna residents. Andrew Brewer, the Puna District representative for the Lawful Hawaiian Government, will be in charge of the Industrial Hemp part of the festival. Mark Erickson of Na Leo Public Access Television will be producing a comprehensive documentary of the event for our local cable channel and internet.

Shortly we will be mailing out invitations to registered dispensary owners, cannabis-friendly doctors, industrial hemp activists, State of Hawaii Department of Health, law enforcement and local legislators. We are also looking for medical cannabis patients who are willing to give public testimony about their lives and healing with cannabis, as well as speakers who have gone through the legal system due to prohibition laws and wish to tell of their experience.

Space is limited so if you are interested in participating as an educator, vendor, sponsor, singer or volunteer, please contact Sara by email at firstannualallthingscannabis@gmail.com or leave a message at 808-765-4431 and your call will be returned promptly.
